Advanced Yoga Therapy

Program Overview

The Advanced Yoga Therapy Program is an in-depth exploration of yoga therapy principles, methods, and practices, building upon the Foundations of Yoga Therapy. This program deepens students’ understanding of offering personalized therapeutic yoga treatments, both in one-on-one sessions and small group settings, for a variety of physical, mental, emotional, and energetic conditions.

What you’ll Learn

Upon completion of this 340-hour, 16-week program, students will be able to:
✔ Develop and implement personalized yoga therapy treatment plans.
✔ Assess and address physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual imbalances.
✔ Understand and apply the Integrated Systems Model for clinical reasoning.
✔ Apply myofascial line assessments to support functional movement.
✔ Adapt yoga practices for women’s health, trauma survivors, and aging populations.
✔ Use meditation, guided visualization, Yoga Nidra, and Ayurveda-based techniques for holistic healing.

*Our online classes are taught synchronously through Zoom.

 

This program has been approved by the Registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training.

The Vancouver School of Healing Arts welcomes students of any sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, colour, national or ethnic origin, or religion.

Admission Requirements

  • A 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate
  • A 300-hour Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Certificate
  • High school diploma or equivalent or minimum 19 years of age prior to the start of the program
  • Completed application form and health evaluation
  • Payment of application fee
  • Personal interview with the Admissions Director
  • For individuals that want to continue on to our IAYT accredited program, one year of personal practice and one year of yoga teaching experience will be required in order to be accepted into the C-IAYT Yoga Therapy program.
  • Free of disability or disease that would impede the learning process of the individual or jeopardize the health and safety of fellow students/clients

Our faculty is comprised of a diverse group of healthcare and wellness experts, including yoga therapists, physiotherapists, registered massage therapists (RMTs) and manual therapists.
